About the Team
Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility offering the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care. The center includes 365 beds, over 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of safety and security functions to safeguard employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and property.
- Patrol the hospital campus and medical offices owned or operated by the hospital.
- Provide escort services to staff and visitors.
- Perform daily lock and unlock of facilities on campus.
- Assist with motor vehicle issues for staff and visitors.
- Respond to all alarm activations and investigate the cause.
- Assist in conducting fire drills within the hospital.
- Enforce parking regulations and traffic control on the hospital campus.
- Assist with patient restraints (e.g., Emergency Department and Psychiatric unit).
- Act as a Hazmat first responder.
- Conduct monthly ground surveys and report findings.
- Maintain a daily activity log of all activities and calls for service.
- Collect lost and found items, document them, and identify the owner when possible.
- Respond to morgue duty calls, including transport of deceased patients and proper release of the body.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of prior security, corrections, or law enforcement experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a healthcare setting.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
