About the role
Step into a vital position where vigilance, professionalism, and integrity are essential. As a Security Officer at Monarch Casino Resort Spa, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, team members, and company assets. This role supports daily security operations throughout the property while delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced casino resort environment. The Security Officer monitors property activity, conducts age verification checks, responds to incidents, assists with emergency situations, and works closely with internal departments and outside agencies as needed. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular ID checks throughout the Monarch Black Hawk property to ensure all guests on property are at least 21 years of age.
- Provide the highest level of guest service at all times while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
- Patrol assigned areas of the property to help ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets.
- Maintain physical surveillance of the Monarch Black Hawk property and report suspicious or unusual activity.
- Respond promptly to incidents, guest concerns, emergencies, and requests for security assistance.
- Take charge of and administer emergency first aid to injured or ill guests and team members, as needed.
- Conduct post-accident and suspicion-based drug screens in accordance with company policy.
- Take appropriate action when individuals are suspected of illegal, unsafe, or disruptive activity.
- Assist with monetary transactions between Guest Services, Table Games, Slots, and other departments when requested.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and logs related to incidents, investigations, and daily security activity.
- Support compliance with applicable gaming regulations, company policies, internal controls, and security procedures.
- Maintain liaison with outside agencies to facilitate the exchange of mutually beneficial information.
- Work collaboratively with Surveillance, Guest Services, Gaming Operations, and other departments to support property operations.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and service-focused environment for all guests and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License.
- Ability to provide exceptional guest service in a professional and courteous manner.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and outside agencies.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification after hire.
- Familiarity with State Gaming ICMPs, rules, and regulations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to observe, assess, and report activity accurately.
- Ability to process currency transactions accurately when required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Understanding and knowledge of Title 31 reporting preferred; training provided.
- Must be dependable, alert, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including days, swing, graveyard, weekends, holidays, and business-demand schedules.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.

Pay
Starting at $23.00/hour.

Full-time, days shift.
