Duties And Responsibilities
- Make regular inspection tours of campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security incidents.
- Respond promptly to calls for assistance, alarms, and emergency situations (medical, fire, safety, etc.).
- Monitor surveillance systems and access control systems.
- Ensure that only authorized persons are admitted to assigned areas of buildings.
- Enforce campus rules, parking regulations, and safety procedures.
- Conduct safety checks of doors, windows, and equipment.
- Prepare accurate incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
- Provide safety escorts for students, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Aid law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.
- Work and communicate with internal and external customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of procedures involved in buildings and grounds security.
- Exceptional customer service abilities, with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated good judgment.
- Good deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to maintain simple records.

Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma with some specialized training of less than 2 years (technical or business school).
- 5 years security experience.
- Certification in first aid, self-defense, ASP training (or are willing to become certified or recertified).
- A valid Driver's license.
- An acceptable FBI/BCA background check and Motor vehicle check.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR certification (or are willing to become certified or recertified).
Pay Range
The estimated pay range for this position is $15.79 - $22.11 per hour.
