Security Officer – full time, 11 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
About the role
Stella Maris, a recognized leader in skilled nursing care including outpatient and short-term rehabilitation, is seeking a full-time Security Officer to join our team on our beautiful campus in Timonium, MD.
Responsibilities
- Perform security and safety patrols and operate communications equipment.
- Scan monitors at work station and surrounding area frequently to ensure safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, etc.
- Consistently follow department procedures, including badge checks and late bus logs.
- Conduct guard tours at proper times, remaining alert for wandering or confused residents.
- Report all safety or hazardous situations of an emergency nature immediately.
- Record all occurrences and maintenance needs on proper forms before the end of the shift.
- Respond as trained to all fire alarms or emergency situations and ensure emergency assistance is responding.
- Respond to calls for service and disruptive or emergency situations; investigate, restore order, resolve problems, and submit reports as necessary.
- Direct traffic and enforce parking compliance.
- Operate the switchboard efficiently and properly, answering calls promptly and courteously.
- Page and make announcements as requested in a clear and proper tone of voice.
- Take and refer messages accurately.
- Contact correct personnel (Pastoral Care, Home Care, Building Services, etc.) to respond to family and staff crises promptly and efficiently.
- Greet visitors, vendors, etc., offering directions or other needed assistance; call departments to inform of visitor’s presence if appropriate.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
Pay
Hourly rate: $17.05 – $25.30. Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
