About the role

The McLean Hospital Corporation, a division of Mass General Brigham, seeks a Security Officer to ensure a safe and secure environment at the hospital. Reporting to the Security Supervisor, this position involves responding to emergencies, maintaining order, and managing complex situations.

Responsibilities

Responds immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
Documents all incidents and takes appropriate actions based on training and legal requirements.
Manages interactions with patients, visitors, and staff, using de-escalation techniques as needed.
Conducts initial investigations into suspicious activity and takes necessary steps to mitigate risks.
Patrols McLean property, documents deficiencies, and enforces visitor policies.
Performs access control, dispatch, and console duties as assigned.
Maintains a professional demeanor and follows department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma required, associate's or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience.
Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
Required certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, IAHSS Basic Officer Certification.
