About the role
The McLean Hospital Corporation, a division of Mass General Brigham, seeks a Security Officer to ensure a safe and secure environment at the hospital. Reporting to the Security Supervisor, this position involves responding to emergencies, maintaining order, and managing complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Responds immediately to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Documents all incidents and takes appropriate actions based on training and legal requirements.
- Manages interactions with patients, visitors, and staff, using de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Conducts initial investigations into suspicious activity and takes necessary steps to mitigate risks.
- Patrols McLean property, documents deficiencies, and enforces visitor policies.
- Performs access control, dispatch, and console duties as assigned.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and follows department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, associate's or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience.
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
- Required certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, IAHSS Basic Officer Certification.
