Security Officer

At The Joseph in Nashville, we believe true luxury is defined by the precision behind the scenes and the welcoming environment we provide. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our guests, team members, visitors, and property.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence throughout the hotel, restaurants, public areas, and event spaces.
• Monitor hotel property, guest areas, entrances, and back-of-house spaces to ensure safety and security standards are upheld.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, emergencies, disturbances, alarms, and incidents.
• Conduct routine patrols of the property, including interior and exterior areas.
• Aid in emergency response procedures including medical incidents, evacuations, fire alarms, and safety-related situations.
• Prepare detailed and accurate incident, accident, and daily activity reports.
• Monitor access control and support loss prevention efforts throughout the property.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership and departments to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Provide assistance and directions to guests and visitors while maintaining a hospitality-focused approach.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and local regulations.
• Support special events, VIP arrivals, and high-volume operational periods as needed.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or security risks immediately.

Qualifications

• Previous security, law enforcement, military, or hospitality security experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, professional demeanor.
• Ability to remain composed and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
• Strong observation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete reports accurately.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations and move throughout the property as needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and remain physically active throughout the shift.
