Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school diploma (or equivalent) Required
Valid drivers license
CPR, First Aid and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certifications (or ability to obtain)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and interact respectfully with students of diverse backgrounds
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response practices
- Proficiency with basic technology including radios and security camera systems

Responsibilities
- Helps maintain a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors
- Makes sure campus activity is monitored, school policies are enforced, incidents are responded to, and a positive school climate is promoted
- Works collaboratively with administrators, local law enforcement, and staff to prevent and address safety concerns
- Writes clear and detailed incident reports
- Maintains a visible, approachable presence that fosters trust and promotes positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Makes sure entrances, hallways, parking lots, and common areas are monitored to ensure safety and compliance with school rules
- Assists with student arrival, dismissal, and lunch periods to maintain orderly flow and prevent unauthorized access
- Makes sure daily bag checks/searches are performed for identified students
- Makes sure vape alarms are monitored and responded to
- Makes sure students, staff, and visitors have lanyards or identification visible
- Patrols the campus and grounds regularly to deter inappropriate behavior and identify safety hazards
- Responds promptly and professionally to disturbances, altercations, or emergencies
- Makes sure security cameras are monitored and suspicious behavior or safety concerns are reported
- Supports emergency drills (fire, lockdown, tornado, etc.) and ensures adherence to safety protocols
- Prepares and maintains accurate written reports of incidents, accidents, and observations
- Aids in traffic control and parking lot management during school hours and events
- Greets and screens visitors in accordance with district security procedures
- Participates in safety meetings and professional development related to security operations, crisis management, de-escalation, and student engagement
- Works cooperatively with all staff on various tasks and/or assignments
- Demonstrates good judgement, and is able to plan, organize and make decisions and prioritize work to meet daily demands

- Primarily indoors; some outdoor student supervision
