About the Role
The Safety/Security Officer ensures the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at the resort. This role involves monitoring the premises, responding to incidents, conducting inspections, and enforcing resort policies to maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the resort property to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and property.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of the resort’s buildings, grounds, and public areas.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
- Investigate disturbances, complaints, and incidents.
- Document and report all incidents accurately and thoroughly.
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas; check identification and credentials.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secured.
- Provide assistance and information to guests and employees as needed.
- Escort guests and staff to/from vehicles and areas as necessary.
- Assist in crowd control during events and emergencies.
- Enforce resort policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and conduct fire drills.
- Participate in ongoing training programs related to security and safety.
- Assist in training new security staff and other employees on security protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and investigations.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and submit them to the Security Manager.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate first aid as needed.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services.
Requirements
- Experience in a hospitality or resort setting is a plus.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Physical stamina to perform patrols and respond to emergencies.
- Must have a valid AZ Driver’s License.
- CPR and first aid certification is a plus.

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily conducted throughout the resort property, including indoor and outdoor areas.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
