About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Security Officer to join our Security team in Greenfield, IN. This position is responsible for the security of the entire Greenfield campus, including patrolling the facility, monitoring security systems, and providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus and buildings, monitoring conditions or situations that pose a risk to safety/security or violate company policy.
• Ensure the integrity and proper operating condition of all installed security systems.
• Brief and debrief with other security staff to pass along pertinent business-related information.
• Document and report all daily activities and incidents in the Security Reporting Database.
• Monitor PC-based systems and electronic equipment at the Security Station (e.g., Security Access Control System, CCTV, Environmental Management and Control systems, and fire alarm system).
• Document and maintain study-related data for Environmental Monitoring Systems.
• Provide prompt notification to on-call technicians or administrative personnel to resolve issues.
• Attend all required training programs and meetings.
• Monitor and maintain the status of the Fire Alarm panel and respond appropriately to alarms.
• Follow Post Orders for the assigned Security Station.
• Respond to emergencies in accordance with company policy (e.g., medical, chemical spills, fire evacuations).
• Enforce company policies, especially Security and Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
• Check personnel, contractors, service technicians, and vendors for proper authorization and contraband.
• Receive after-hours deliveries of packages and mail, document, and store appropriately.
• Perform security functions in accordance with company and departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service to co-workers and internal/external customers.
• Answer and relay incoming calls without compromising confidentiality.
• Assist with administrative responsibilities and provide lock/key services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year or more of work experience recording information in automated systems.
• 1 year or more of experience using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 1 year or more of demonstrated quality customer service skills.
• 21 years of age or older with a clean driving record and valid Driver’s license.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Comfortable working in an Animal Research facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of experience in security.

Pay

$20-$21/hour (with 5% shift premium). All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Schedule

6:00 AM - 2:00 PM with weekend rotation required.
