About the role
The Security Officer II receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Security Officer. Performs a full performance level of technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces Kadlec, facility, and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high-risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.
Responsibilities
- Protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
- Enforce Kadlec, facility, and security policies and regulations.
- Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property.
- Respond and assist in restraining patients; detain individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer.
- Provide protective services to high-risk areas.
- Support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.
Requirements
- 2 years of Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework deemed important to the job.
- 1 year of experience working within the Kadlec Security department, passage of the Security Department SO2 Promotion Test, and the passage of a Security Department administered oral board.
- Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, History, or English.
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
Schedule
Part time, variable shift, 32 working hours weekly.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.92 - $32.00 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
