Security Officer
About the Role
Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access. Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
Responsibilities
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS, or administer first aid/CPR as required.
- Assist guests and employees during emergency situations and notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.
- Defuse guest or employee disturbances and call for outside assistance if necessary.
- Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents.
- Handle interruptions and complaints, and resolve safety hazard situations.
- Escort unwelcome persons from the property without disrupting operations.
- Report to scenes of vehicle accidents or thefts and call for assistance using proper code responses.
- Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary and daily activity report.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents; release information only to authorized individuals.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
- Complete safety training and certifications, ensure professional appearance, and protect company assets.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Requirements
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, including an entire work shift.
- Read and visually verify information in various formats (e.g., small print).
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
- Use computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
- Move quickly to respond to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog).
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
- Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Some states may require additional licensing or registration for this position.
