Security Officer

About the role

The Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Security Officer performs basic and advanced security functions and Guest Services, delivering professional and personalized service that aligns with the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Provide unequaled service to guests and employees.
• Perform casino-related tasks such as fills, credits, drops, and voids.
• Conduct area-based security patrols in assigned areas throughout the property.
• Check identification to ensure only patrons aged 21 and older enter age-restricted areas.
• Enforce the Golden Nugget’s Code of Conduct and rules and regulations.
• Perform citizen’s arrests or legal detainments when legally permissible.
• Complete security reports, including voluntary statements, employee accident reports, and computerized case reports.
• Investigate violations of state and local laws, the Golden Nugget Code of Conduct, and other incidents requiring inquiry.
• Perform other security or non-security duties as required.
• Handle Lost and Found Property.
• Conduct exterior perimeter checks on foot, covering all company-owned property.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with fluency in English.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively while producing quality results.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions from management.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in English.
• Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries from employees or guests.
• Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to various situations.
• Ability to remain calm and rational in high-stress situations.
• Working knowledge of company, department, state, and local rules, policies, and laws.
• Must successfully complete company and gaming background screening.
• Proficiency in using security equipment such as two-way radios and handcuffs.
• Capability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Minimum age requirement: 21.
• Must successfully complete American Red Cross or equivalent Adult CPR Certification.
• This position requires a gaming license by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Pay

USD $16.75 - USD $17.75 per hour. This is a tipped position.
