About the role

Uniform Security Officers at DK Security are responsible for protecting our clients’ buildings, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors from harm and criminal activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at the entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds.
• Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Monitor for suspicious people, packages, and activities.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) per MCL 338.106717(2). (Must be at least 21 years old and hold a Michigan CPL or LEOSA card for armed security work).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
• Must not have been convicted of misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
• Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
• Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a professional image.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations non-confrontationally. Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• If driving company/client vehicles or using a personal vehicle for work, must have a valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record (fewer than 3 moving violations, fewer than 2 at-fault accidents, and no major violations in the last 3 years).
• Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergencies.
• Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergencies.
• Must be physically and mentally sound, able to remain alert during shifts (armed officers must complete a psychological evaluation).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances (including stairs) for 8–12-hour shifts.
• Must be able to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and equipment.
• Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs. for armed security officers).
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Qualifications
