Security Officer

About the Role
As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Observe and Report: Stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
- Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance while standing guard in lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
- Patrols: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, verify IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
- Safety Patrol: Enforce policies and procedures, report safety concerns, and maintain a secure environment.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, administer CPR/First Aid/AED, and communicate with emergency personnel.
- Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff and keep supervisors updated on all client communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
- No felony convictions or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willingness to become certified).
- Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (with corrective lenses if needed).
- Ability to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
- Proficiency in using smartphones/computers for emails and online training.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Adherence to all client and company policies; completion of required training on time.
Note: Applicants previously removed from a contract or on disciplinary probation at separation will not be considered.
Skills
No prior experience is required. Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay
$17 per hour.
Schedule
- Part-time position (Thursday–Saturday, all shifts).
- Flexible availability may allow up to 39 hours per week.
This is an unarmed security position; weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles.
