Security Officer

Job Summary

You will ensure a reasonably safe and secure healthcare environment by promptly responding to security emergencies and maintaining a professional demeanor while supporting CommonSpirit Health's mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report activities/incidents, preserve order, enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested, and document all incidents and requests within the hospital reporting platform, acting consistently with CommonSpirit Health's core values.
• Respond to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, including incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors.
• Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.
• Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to the right location.
• Keep the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.
• Demonstrate the professional and technical skills necessary for the role, exhibiting both depth and breadth of expertise.
• Builds trust and confidence through respectful and credible interactions that reflect positively on personal integrity and the organization’s mission.

Job Requirements

• High School or GED General Studies
• Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service or one (1) year experience as a Security Officer, Security Guard:
• CABasic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
• Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days

Pay Range

$27.16 - $31.83 /hour
