Security Officer

Job Summary

To maintain the highest level of safety and security, you will patrol assigned areas, monitor electronic surveillance equipment, dispatch personnel, and respond to calls for assistance.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas by foot or vehicle
• Maintain electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems
• Dispatch appropriate personnel via radio
• Respond to calls for assistance, including violent or unruly patients, crimes in progress, and emergency codes
• Monitor security alarms and dispatch officers as needed
• Report unsafe acts or conditions
• Ensure all activities are logged and incident reports are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers
• Investigate security breaches and conduct investigations
• Write incident reports
• Ensure HIPAA breaches are reported if witnessed
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including radios and hospital codes
• Drive a vehicle as required

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Six (6) months experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, or
• One (1) year experience as a security officer
• Driver’s License
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 90 days

Pay

$18.06 - $25.51 /hour
