Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer will monitor buildings and grounds to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and visitors at Mercy Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vigilance over the property by walking and driving around the premises.
• Guard facility and unit access points.
• Monitor surveillance cameras.
• Test new security technology.
• Protect employees/visitors from acts of violence.
• Communicate with patients and visitors upon entering the hospital.
• Interact with all Mercy departments to assist patients/customers.
• Provide information to staff, visitors, and patients.
• Respond to emergency situations involving combative or violent individuals.
• Evaluate situations and use de-escalation skills to resolve conflicts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Unarmed Professional within 30 Days
• Oregon Driver's License
• AHA BLS within 30 Days
• First Aid within 30 Days

Preferred

• College level coursework in professionally related fields
• One year of experience in law enforcement or as a security officer
• Healthcare security experience

Pay

The posted compensation range of $20.86 - $29.46 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
