Security Officer

Position Overview

Hornets Sports & Entertainment is seeking dedicated and proactive individuals to join their Security Department. Security Officers will provide access control and security for guests, media, and employees at Spectrum Center.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Greet guests and employees as they enter Spectrum Center
• Utilize Lobby Guard visitor management system to ensure all guests are accounted for
• Operate security x-ray machine and walk-thru metal detector to ensure no prohibited items enter Spectrum Center
• Patrol all levels of the arena on foot to identify safety hazards and unsecure/secure doors as directed
• Patrol Spectrum Center's external footprint on foot or golf cart, including Trade Street Plaza and loading dock
• Proactively observe patrols and report findings to management team and supervisor
• Work closely with the security management team
• Follow all rules and regulations as outlined in policies and procedures and post orders
• Follow all NBA security guidelines
• Aid in directing orderly evacuations of the building
• Aid in special projects as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and climb stairs
• Occasional lifting of boxes or equipment such as fire extinguishers
• Presents self in a professional manner and has the ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of organization and outside contacts
• Flexibility to work extended and/or irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays for games and events, as needed
