Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Securing, guarding, and protecting property and grounds by patrolling the interior and exterior of facilities via foot, or other mode of transport and by monitoring activities using surveillance cameras, alarm panels, card access, or other electronic security systems.
- Guarding property against fire, damage, theft, or other hazards; monitoring assigned areas for possible violation of policies, regulations, and rules of conduct; recognizing and reporting unusual, suspicious, or hazardous situations.
- Providing information and assistance to building visitors, including the public.
- Operating and maintaining security and enforcement equipment.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Some positions may require a valid NC driver's license.
- Satisfactory completion of a physical will be required.
Skills
- Knowledge of the standard safety and security.
- Basic knowledge of standard methods of reporting and handling emergencies such as disturbances, fires, medical and security threats.
- Knowledge of applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to work independently, as well as function effectively within a team environment.
- Exercise good judgement in complex and new situations.
- Show tact, a positive attitude and courtesy in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high level university officials and the public.
- Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
- Able to demonstrate accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
Other Information
- Assignments and hours may vary and are dependent on the needs and hours of operation of Campbell University.
- Occasionally these hours may be on holidays.
- This is a non-sworn Security position, not law enforcement.
