Security Officer
About the role
Primary responsibilities include protecting people, property, information, and reputation of Avita Health System as well as enforcing the rules and regulations set forth by the organization. This is a highly visible role within the hospital.
- Greet patients and visitors upon entry, offer assistance, and provide escorts as needed.
- Patrol the facility as a visible deterrent and to foster a sense of safety for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Respond immediately to emergency codes within the hospital (no patient treatment provided).
- Assist staff in verbally de-escalating or restraining unmanageable or unruly patients or visitors when necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must successfully complete an Essential Function Test (EFT) prior to employment.
- Previous background experience in Hospital Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, or other Public Service entities.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Associate Degree in Public Service or current enrollment in a Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement program with continued progress toward completion.
- Hazardous Material Awareness & Operations Level training.
- Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Training.
