About the role
The Security Officer performs safety and security tours according to established Security Department Management Plans and Standard Operating Procedures. The Security Officer provides and preserves a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at AtlantiCare campuses and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Patrols assigned areas to ensure safety and security.
- Monitors surveillance systems and responds to alarms.
- Responds to emergencies and assists in crisis management.
- Ensures compliance with all security policies and procedures.
- Provides assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
- Completes required training and certifications within 6 months of hire or transfer.
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other security related applications/programs required.
- All certifications and training listed below are required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
- American Heart Association BLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- CPI required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; once obtained kept current at all time.
- Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (IS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
- IS 100 Introduction to Incident Command System
- IS 700 National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- IS 907 Active Shooter Training
