Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer performs safety and security tours according to established Security Department Management Plans and Standard Operating Procedures. The Security Officer provides and preserves a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at AtlantiCare campuses and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to ensure safety and security.
• Monitors surveillance systems and responds to alarms.
• Responds to emergencies and assists in crisis management.
• Ensures compliance with all security policies and procedures.
• Provides assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
• Completes required training and certifications within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other security related applications/programs required.
• All certifications and training listed below are required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• American Heart Association BLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• CPI required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; once obtained kept current at all time.
• Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (IS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• IS 100 Introduction to Incident Command System
• IS 700 National Incident Management System (NIMS)
• IS 907 Active Shooter Training
