Security Officer
About the role
The Security Officer performs safety and security tours according to established Security Department Management Plans and Standard Operating Procedures. The Security Officer provides and preserves a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at AtlantiCare campuses and facilities.
Qualifications
- Education: High School degree or equivalent.
- Licenses/Certifications: FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (IS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. American Heart Association BLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer. CPI required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; once obtained kept current at all time. AtlantiCare Security Department Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Experience: 1 year of security officer experience preferred, preferably within the healthcare environment. 1 year of AtlantiCare Security Officer experience preferred. Prior Healthcare service preferred.
Performance Expectations
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work Environment
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Exposure to all weather conditions during patrols and post. Moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling, continuous walking and standing.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to department leadership.
