Security Officer

Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain all steps of the Red Carpet Customer Service program with each patron and employee you come in contact with.
- Effectively respond to supervisor’s requests in all areas of customer interaction and customer concerns.
- Provide security to assigned area or parking lot; maintain high visibility, handle problem situations, and watch for safety hazards.
- Provide security escorts for all monetary transfers, fills, and credits.
- Provide security escort as requested for jackpot winners.
- Oversee customer boarding and disembarking: provide crowd control, direct traffic, check IDs, and check for oversized bags, cameras, and other prohibited items.
- Responsible for actively patrolling sections/floors looking for interaction opportunities, answer calls while still maintaining the ability to build relationships.
- Provide assistance to customers: give directions, call cabs, assist with car trouble, etc.
- Assist with Table and Slot drops.
- Observe Count members during the validator drop and transport/escort to Count Room.
- Provide assistance for Table drop by providing drop boxes, observing the count, and securing drop boxes in the Count Room.
- Maintain logs of activities at entrances and exits from Count Room, and Vault.
- Serve as dispatcher. Dispatch other Officers to various assignments and maintain activity log sheets.
- Watch and record monitors and alarms.
- Write detailed reports as required for incidents involving law violations and/or violations for company policy and/or procedure.
- Testify in court on behalf of the company as necessary.
- Administer first aid and life support when necessary (CPR/AED).
- Occasionally, strenuous physical activity is required.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures for all Argosy Casino patrons and employees, including abandon ship, fire, man overboard, and bomb search.
Requirements
- A minimum of 21 years of age.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Able to handle stressful situations dealing with the general public.
- Able to work in an environment which may be noisy and/or have excessive cigarette smoke.
- Able to maintain tact when dealing with difficult customers.
- Able to run on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
- Able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations.
- Able to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas including walking and standing for long periods of time.
- Able to multi-task as required (Security Officers cover a wide variety of different posts and work with all departments).
- Initiate positive interactions with guests and employees.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Skills
- Familiarity with emergency procedures for all Argosy Casino patrons and employees.
- Compliance with company policies, all state and federal regulations, and internal controls as relates to this position.

Pay
$16.50 per hour, initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
