Security Officer

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completes required number of guard tours/patrols inside and outside campus.
• Effectively monitors patients who are determined to be a threat to themselves or others.
• Provides Forensic Education to corrections and law enforcement personnel, when appropriate.
• Maintains vigilance for solicitors, vagrants and persons in unauthorized areas.
• Effectively responds to hospital codes.
• Enforces hospital parking regulations and issues parking reminders as required.
• Reports safety concerns, dangers, hazards, etc., as required.
• Completes required reports, logs and other documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintains Lost and Found log, logging and returning property, as necessary.
• All other job duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• A High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
• A Valid Driver’s Licensure and a clean driving record are required.
• Tennessee State certification and possession of a current security license is required; or must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
• Current CPR certification (or obtain prior to the completion of orientation) is required.
• CPI/De-escalation training (or obtain within 6 months of hire) is required.
• Experience in security or law enforcement field is preferred.
• Two years of related work experience is preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively with persons of various cultural and economic backgrounds is required.
• Possesses minimum computer skills; Familiarity with Microsoft programs is required.
