About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location in Orlando, FL, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post offers the opportunity to use your law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience while providing exceptional customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, personnel, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government law-enforcement location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken, while maintaining professional communication with law-enforcement personnel and the public.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Armed guard card or license.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
