Security Officer Armed Perimeter Patrol

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control activities, verify credentials when required, and report policy violations, hazards, and/or maintenance issues according to site protocols.
• Support emergency and evacuation procedures, provide visible presence throughout the location, and complete required reports, logs, and/or other post documentation before the end of each shift.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
