About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations with strong communication and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions or behavior.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying credentials, observing visitor movement, and documenting security-related incidents in required reports.
- Support public-facing operations by communicating with local staff, visitors, and first responders, and/or assisting with evacuation, lockdown, or other emergency procedures when appropriate.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
- A Guard Card or license is preferred.
- An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton are preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
