About the role
As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol Operations in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as utilities. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access‑control activities. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while responding to security‑related concerns with integrity and teamwork. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility customers while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, substations, administrative buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document visitor, contractor, vehicle, and delivery activity in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of armed security‑related, law‑enforcement, or military experience.
- Armed guard card or license.
- Access‑control and badge experience (preferred).
- Customer service experience (preferred).
- Minimum age of 21 years for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Drug screening as permitted by law.
- Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local regulations; may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
Pay
$18.25 per hour (Full‑time position).

- Monday: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Thursday: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Friday: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Saturday: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
- Sunday: 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM
