Security Officer Armed Patrol Access Control

About the role

As an Armed Patrol Access Control Security Officer in Sanford, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and support access procedures. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a government location.
• Perform armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and screen individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site procedures, maintaining a professional and courteous presence.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate personnel and follow established response protocols.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift records; maintain accountability for assigned equipment and comply with applicable armed post procedures.

Requirements

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
