Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol

About the role
As an Armed Mobile Patrol Security Officer in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. This part-time role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you using our Claim a Shift platform. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures and emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, access points, equipment areas, and perimeter locations, with working conditions varying by site.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
Requirements
- Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.
Pay
$22.03 / hour
Schedule
- Part-time
- Day shifts on Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
