About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As an Armed Healthcare Patrol Driver in CULPEPER, VA, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, residents, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and contacting emergency services when appropriate.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry, observe and report unusual activity, and document incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
  • Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and post orders.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
