Security Officer - Armed Full Time Patrol

About the role
As an Armed Full Time Patrol Security Officer in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related needs with professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, donors, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and designated access points to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Maintain required documentation, including patrol activity, incident reports, and daily activity logs, while handling assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
