About the Role

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Part-Time Armed Retail Security Officer to provide security services at a high-end jewelry retail location in Kansas City. This position requires an individual who can maintain a strong security presence while delivering exceptional customer service in a luxury retail environment. The successful candidate will help protect customers, employees, merchandise, and company assets by remaining alert, responding appropriately to security concerns, and supporting store operations with professionalism and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Retail Security & Asset Protection
  • Maintain a visible armed presence throughout the store during assigned shifts.
  • Observe customer activity to identify suspicious behavior or potential theft.
  • Help protect valuable merchandise through proactive monitoring and professional engagement.
  • Conduct routine security observations while maintaining awareness of store operations.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives through consistent attention to detail.
• Customer Service & Professional Presence
  • Welcome customers and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide directions or assistance when appropriate while maintaining security awareness.
  • Foster a safe, respectful shopping environment for customers and employees.
  • Maintain a calm, confident demeanor during routine operations and unexpected situations.
• Incident Response
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or suspicious activity.
  • Follow established emergency procedures and post instructions during critical events.
  • Immediately notify management or law enforcement when required.
  • Assist with maintaining order while minimizing disruption to business operations.
• Documentation & Communication
  • Prepare complete and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Communicate important observations to store leadership and Citadel Security management.
  • Document security concerns according to company reporting procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding operational and client-related information.

Requirements

• Active Missouri Armed Security License (Guard Card) required.
• Personal firearm that meets all company, state, and federal requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Must satisfy all applicable Missouri licensing and armed security requirements.
• Ability to pass all required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience providing security within retail or luxury retail environments.
• Experience protecting high-value merchandise such as jewelry or specialty retail products.
• Background in loss prevention, asset protection, or retail investigations.
• Prior armed security experience involving frequent public interaction.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.

Work Environment

• Indoor retail setting with frequent interaction with customers and store employees.
• Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Continuous observation of customer activity and store operations.
• Fast-paced environment requires professionalism, awareness, and sound judgment.
• Weekend, evening, holiday, and variable-hour assignments may be available based on business needs.

Pay

$30.00 per hour

Schedule

Various days | 0-50 hours per week based on operational needs
