Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Access Examiner in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will monitor access points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment through visible presence, routine activity, and strong communication. In this armed post, you will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering courteous service to visitors and staff.

• DayTime: Mon 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Tue 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Sun 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control screening, credential verification, and/or visitor processing at a government location.
• Monitor entrances and restricted areas, document arrivals and departures, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent application of access protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and reporting procedures.
• Communicate with employees, visitors, contractors, and public contacts regarding entry requirements, prohibited items, and other security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing conditions and reporting unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience or 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Licensing Requirements

• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
