Security Officer - Anchorage Museum (Starts $18.54/hr, Full Time)

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas, including roving inside the facilities, roving in a vehicle, and other locations.
• Ensures safety and compliance by observing and verbal de-escalating situations.
• Examines and reports on the security of doors, windows, and other areas.
• Assists in setting up for events, moving furniture, and preparing the Museum for various functions.
• Warns and apprehends violators of rules and notifies supervisors of violations.
• Notifies on-site individuals of visitors and assists in emergency responses.
• Performs routine input or monitoring of safety and life support computer programs.
• Checks and records data related to property damage, unusual occurrences, and system operations.
• May issue and record ID badges and assist in maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Pass State of Alaska background check and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00.
• Able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Able to make decisions independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to stand for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Speaks, understands, reads, and writes English fluently.
• Must be safety-oriented and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
