Security Officer (Afternoon)
Position Summary
As an Afternoon Security Officer at Nemacolin's luxury resort, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our guests, staff, and property. You will maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, respond to incidents, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and professionalism in line with our brand values.
Essential Functions
- Ensure the safety and security of all guests, associates, and resort assets through proactive patrols and surveillance.
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the resort premises, including guest areas, back-of-house, and perimeter zones.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and other security-related incidents. Provide first aid or CPR if certified and necessary.
- Maintain access control by monitoring and controlling access to restricted areas. Verify identification and credentials of visitors, contractors, and staff as required.
- Report writing: Accurately document incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports. Maintain logs and records in accordance with resort policies.
- Provide exceptional guest service by assisting with directions, lost and found, and general inquiries while maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems and other security technology to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
- Enforce resort policies and procedures, including fire safety, emergency evacuation, and health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering) to ensure a seamless and secure guest experience.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or hospitality training is a plus.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, preferably in a luxury hospitality or resort environment.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Must complete and pass a hospitality security officer certification program within 60 days.

- PA Act 235 armed agent certification is strongly preferred.
