Security Officer Access Control Driver
About the Role
As a Security Officer Access Control Driver in North Chesterfield, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will help maintain a secure environment by verifying credentials, managing badge access, monitoring entry points, and assisting visitors and employees with professionalism. You will provide visible support, communicate clearly, and help deter security-related incidents while upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity. This is a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries entering or exiting the chemical/petrochemical location.
- Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and visitor management systems, reporting irregularities and access concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
