Security Officer - Access Control

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location in Goodyear, AZ, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing entry points, verifying badges and visitor access, monitoring activity, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting smooth operations through clear communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorization, and vehicle entry requirements.
• Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and access points; document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
