About the role

As a Security Officer Access Checkpoint in San Pedro, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. This part-time role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. You will support access control operations by verifying badges, managing visitor entry, monitoring key areas, and documenting security-related activity at a logistics and distribution location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by following site-specific access procedures, verifying credentials, and documenting entry and exit activity.
• Monitor access points, gates, and receiving/shipping areas to deter unauthorized entry, support visitor processing, and report unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, using established communication protocols and requesting assistance when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns, equipment issues, or reportable conditions.
• Complete required logs, incident reports, and pass-down communication with accuracy, supporting security-related procedures for deliveries, trailers, and high-traffic operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$20.00 / hour

Schedule

• Saturday: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
• Sunday: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM
