About the role

As a Security Officer Access Checkpoint Driver in Monroe, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. This role includes conducting routine patrols, helping to deter security-related incidents, and communicating clearly with site personnel. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor and control access to facilities, restricted areas, and/or critical infrastructure by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized personnel according to site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help identify irregular conditions and support security-related operations.
• Document daily activities, incidents, access concerns, and shift information accurately in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
