Security Officer - Access Authorization

About the role

As a Security Officer Access Authorization in Lockport, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help to deter incidents while providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused corporate location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage access-control systems, verify credentials, process authorized visitors, issue and retrieve badges or access devices, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; escalate concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior areas, entry points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts, personnel, and emergency responders while documenting incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay & schedule

• Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour
• Position Type: Full Time
• Schedule: Day Time, Monday through Thursday, 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
