Security Officer (3rd Shift)
About the role
Patrol officers must demonstrate good judgement and common sense, follow directions from supervisors, accurately recount witnessed situations, and adhere to company policy and guidelines. Officers should maintain a professional appearance and interact effectively with the public, possessing excellent verbal and written abilities to document violations or suspicious behavior. They must be capable of taking charge and directing others during emergencies or dangerous incidents.
Duties include patrolling and inspecting property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity; monitoring entrances and exits of the hotel and adjacent office complexes; greeting and assisting guests, visitors, and tenants; locking and unlocking doors, including manual overhead garage doors and large access gates; observing and reporting policy violations or criminal activity; and deterring problems through visual presence and intervention.
Responsibilities
- Support the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards.
- Perform all patrol duties as assigned.
- Follow up on investigations of claims of loss, incidents, or injury/illness.
- Enter dead-bolted or secured rooms when necessary.
- Assist with fire safety inspections and classes, and respond to emergency situations.
- All other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of security experience.
- Ability to give full attention to what others are saying.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning, and follow directions from supervisors.
- Ability to accurately recount witnessed situations and follow company policy.
- Ability to take charge and direct others in emergencies or dangerous incidents.
- Detail-oriented.
Work Environment
This role operates within a hotel setting, interacting with employees, guests, deliveries, and other visitors.
Physical Demands
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment, including grasping and writing.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform repetitive motions.
- Hearing and visual acuity, including the ability to see at a distance.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds.
Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with the expectation to work necessary business hours to meet the operational needs of the Security Department.
