About the role

The Security - Loading Dock Officer oversees the secure and efficient operation of loading docks at designated client locations. This role manages deliveries, monitors inbound and outbound traffic, and ensures compliance with security protocols and facility procedures specific to each site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting vendors, employees, tenants, and visitors.
• Monitor and control access to client loading docks and adjacent areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
• Greet and verify delivery personnel, vendors, and contractors entering the loading dock area.
• Maintain a visible presence and patrol assigned dock zones to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized activity.
• Answer incoming calls and manage communication related to dock operations.
• Enforce building and loading dock policies and procedures within established guidelines.
• Inspect outgoing deliveries to ensure authorized removal of property.
• Monitor security systems and alarms related to dock areas.
• Prepare incident and activity reports as required.
• Follow established emergency protocols and support evacuation procedures if needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state-mandated security officer license or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in security, preferably with logistics or dock-related responsibilities.
• Reliable transportation and effective communication skills.
• Professional appearance and customer service mindset.
• Ability to write routine reports and complete logs accurately.
• Familiarity with security systems, access control devices, and safety protocols.
