Security Officer $20/hr - Newington, NH

About the role

Securitas Security Services is expanding our Security Team at Lonza located in Newington, NH. We are looking for Full-Time & Part-Time Security Officers to fill various shifts. The ideal candidate brings a background in military service, law enforcement, or security, along with strong leadership and managerial capabilities. Previous experience in security or management is strongly preferred but not required, as Securitas offers a comprehensive training program to support your success. Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and/or mobile patrols throughout shift, including during various weather conditions
• Stay alert and maintain great attention to detail
• Perform access control duties
• Maintain composure when dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under urgent or pressure situations
• Handle challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area
• Work overtime without advance notice when required
• Handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Use keyboarding, basic computer usage, and operating controls as needed
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to observe and report incidents and direct others
• Perform frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may involve climbing stairs and walking on inclines or uneven terrain
• Occasionally reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Adjust focus for close and distance vision
• Work in environments requiring protective gear and awareness of personal safety
• Handle sensitive and confidential information when required

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Standard computer/technology skills
• Previous military and/or law enforcement experience a plus
• Reliable, accountable, punctual, and strong work ethic
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner
• Reliable means of transportation and communication
• Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey

Pay

Starting at $20.00/hr

Schedule

• 1st Shift, Friday - Sunday - Thursday, 6:00am – 2:00pm, 40 hrs/week
• 2nd Shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm, 40 hrs/week
• 1st Shift, Saturday/Sunday, 6:00am - 2:00pm, 16 hrs/week
• 2nd Shift, Friday/Sunday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm, 16 hrs/week
