Requirements

• Under limited/moderate supervision, responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.
• Makes periodic tours of premises and grounds, ensuring proper security measures are in place.
• Guards property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, and illegal entry.
• Controls access to health system facilities.
• May apply de-escalation tactics with high-risk patients or visitors to prevent harm.
• Retains physically assaultive patients as directed by clinical staff.
• Responds to alarms, investigates incidents, and writes detailed reports.
• Collects and secures weapons and illicit drugs according to policies.
• Collaborates with the care team for Designated Examiner evaluations.
• May screen visitors and issue passes.
• Maintains parking regulations and enforces parking citations.
• Compiles and reports statistical data related to parking management.
• Handles moderately complex issues and may refer more complex matters to higher-level staff.
