About the role
The Security Manager oversees daily security operations, protects club assets, ensures the safety of all members, guests, and staff, and serves as the on-shift Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD).
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and train shift security officers on company policies, emergency procedures, and professional standards.
- Enforce strict compliance regarding staff punctuality, performance, and professional dress code/grooming standards.
- Cultivate a positive, collaborative team environment and motivate officers to maintain high alertness.
- Manage comprehensive on-shift security operations and serve as the primary point of contact for safety matters.
- Respond promptly, calmly, and professionally to all guest, member, and staff complaints or assistance requests.
- Conduct thorough internal investigations into security incidents utilizing video surveillance systems and specialized security software.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional security office and monitoring station.
- Maintain continuous communication and collaborate closely with the Manager on Duty (MOD) throughout the shift.
- Complete detailed shift logs and comprehensive incident reports to pass critical information to upper management.
- Perform rigorous Fire Life Safety patrols of stairwells, corridors, and exits to ensure full compliance with municipal fire codes.
- Identify, document, and immediately report any facility deficiencies, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions.
- Ensure all club emergencies and safety procedures are strictly adhered to by staff and guests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of security experience within the hospitality industry (hotels, high-end clubs or luxury venues).
- Valid New York State (NYS) Security Guard License.
- Active FDNY Fire Life Safety Director Certification (F-89 or valid T-89 / Z-89 awaiting practical).
Skills
- Deep knowledge of workplace safety regulations.
