Responsibilities
- Affords loss control procedures.
- Collaborates with the VP and other supervisors to coordinate information that aligns with Fairstead Management requirements.
- Trains and mentors the Security staff.
- Maintains orderliness and continuity of activities between shifts.
- Investigates security-related matters.
- Monitors shift security reports and activity logs.
- Supervises shift activities, including reports, incidents, patrolling, dispatching, activity logs, and all other activities on shift.
- Coaches, counsels, and reviews the performance of guards to ensure proper and effective duty conduct.
- Makes recommendations regarding security matters.
- Maintains current certification in first-aid and CPR.
- Understands and applies effective apprehension techniques and arrest procedures according to State Criminal Procedure Law and Penal Law.
- Knows fire procedures.
- Maintains a high visibility profile among the community by the Security staff.
- Conducts periodic community patrols, including guard areas, package rooms, outer property perimeters, parking lots, and facilities of resident access.
- Communicates pertinent information to the relief shift.
- Administers first-aid when necessary.
- Recognizes and reports safety hazards.
- Maintains energy conservation controls and implements corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintains effective communication with all managers and employees.
- Handles Security-related situations effectively, prioritizing the community's best interests.
- Ensures compliance with FM and Security SOPs and L SOPs.
- Reports any security breaches.
- Assists the General Manager in other applicable areas.

Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of related experience.
- Strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community.
- Experience with business continuity planning, investigations, risk management, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable in information technology and information security.
- Ability to evaluate and assess immediate security needs and requirements.
- Ability to handle company confidentiality and sensitivity of security issues.
- Valid NY State Security License required.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, vendors, and associates.
- Accurate with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
