Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work and personnel assigned to the security and event staff.
  • Maintain the master schedules for all personnel assigned to the security and event staff.
  • Coordinate interviews and hiring of adequate personnel assigned to the security and event functions.
  • Coordinate resources and personnel in security and event staff to ensure safety/security goals and objectives are met consistently.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to procedures and policies that provide a productive, efficient, and safe work environment for employees and customers.
  • Prepare oral and written reports as required in a clear and concise manner.
  • Update Emergency Operations Plan on an annual basis.
  • Document and follow up on all security and first aid incidents.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up within 24 hours of all first aid reports resulting in serious injury and/or transport to a medical facility.
  • Investigate thoroughly all incidents as assigned by the general manager, including harassment, alleged misconduct, criminal matters, and security concerns.
  • Provide proactive customer service to all guests to promote a fan-friendly environment.
  • Maintain liaison with other operational work groups (parking, ushers, concessions, souvenirs, personnel) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain liaison with outside agencies (police, fire, emergency services) to promote positive relationships.
  • Provide annual orientation to part-time event and security staff, along with periodic safety training sessions.
  • Conduct shift briefings, review department checklists, and account for all equipment.
  • Secure property, either personally or through reporting staff, and ensure security staff lock/unlock facility doors.
  • Conduct routine property walks.
  • Work directly with Production/Event Management team to organize event staff.
  • Manage show and guest parking, associated signage, ingress, and egress following company protocol.
  • Participate in post-event meetings to provide detailed feedback.
  • Maintain proper image and generate positive public relations with artists, clients, exhibitors, patrons, and staff.
  • Take direction and communicate with all facility users during emergency situations.
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations on facility projects, repairs, and safety-related items.
  • Prepare staff estimates, advance shows, and security needs.
  • Work with clients and promoters to advance and coordinate event logistics.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and address complaints and resolve problems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of security experience required.
  • 1+ year(s) of security experience at the supervisor or manager level required.
  • Experience working live events preferred.
  • Military or law enforcement experience desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required; B.A. in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.

  • Ability to handle conflict, make common-sense decisions, and exercise proper action during high-tension and stressful situations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, preparedness, and organization skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
