Security Manager (68509)

About the role

The Security Manager oversees the security of the facility, including monitoring alarms, cameras, and security equipment. They also manage the safety of residents and ensure compliance with various regulations and funding source requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train security personnel
• Maintain safety and security of the facility
• Conduct regular inspections and emergency response training
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate security staff
• Develop and implement security improvement plans
• Coordinate urine surveillance system
• Manage medication logs and inventory
• Ensure compliance with ACA, PREA, and OSHA regulations
• Operate as On-Call Supervisor (OCS)
• Represent the facility to external stakeholders
• Drive company business and transport clients as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in security management or a related field (preferred)
• Five years of transferable experience in human services or corrections/security (required)
• Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience (preferred)
• Ability to make independent decisions and analyze difficult situations
• Knowledge of security operations, enforcement procedures, and safety practices in a correctional setting
• Reasonable proficiency with business computer applications and security operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
• Bilingual in any language (a plus)
