Security - Loss Prevention Officer

Overview

The Loss Prevention (Security) Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and tranquility of guests and employees at Omni La Mansion del Rio. This position involves enforcing hotel policies and procedures, recording incidents, investigating crimes, and maintaining a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hotel property to ensure safety and protect assets.
• Answer house calls to assist guests and associates with safety, security, and hotel operations.
• Initiate and follow-up with investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
• Aid sick or injured guests or associates, ensuring all documentation and reporting are completed promptly.
• Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, and monitor investigations until completion, documenting all contacts.
• Maintain accurate records, including camera monitoring, shift activity logs, codebooks, and interactions with guests and employees.
• Monitor and distribute visitor and vendor access badges, perform frequent bag checks, and escort special guests as needed.
• Assist supervisors or directors in checking alarm systems, safety, and fire alarm systems, and monitor security of building doors, service areas, delivery areas, and grounds.
• Support hotel management in emergency situations by following safety procedures and directing guests and associates to safety.
• Record, report, and correct any unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Available for AM & PM shifts.
• Effective communication skills via telephone, email, radio, and reporting.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to reach various areas of the hotel/resort quickly if necessary.
• First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
• Calm and professional demeanor during stressful situations.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Able to work flexible schedules including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to obtain a Responsible Beverage Service certification from approved providers.
